  • The company

CellSine was founded in 2015 as a spin-off company from KU Leuven and VUB. We offer instruments and services based on advanced electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for drug discovery and other biomedical applications.

The proprietary I-series devices allow you to perform broad-spectrum impedance measurements. Such measurements enable the detection of a wide range of biological phenomena without the use of chemical labels. The latter aspect enables you to design your own high content analyses of living cells in a matter of weeks. The “light” structure of the resulting “big”data is ideal for ultimate exploration with artificial intelligence methods, machine learning, and many other data processing tools.

  • Vision & Mission

    Vision

The discovery rate of novel molecules entering the clinic dropped significantly whereas expenses in biotech and pharma R&D skyrocketed the past decade. Therefore, the drug discovery field is in a high demand for novel research tools that enable faster and more efficient screening of candidate drugs. Modern drug discovery should also avoid the use of animal models as much as possible.

    Mission

Our mission is to deliver the best-in-class, label-free and real-time cell based assays to enable a fast selection of molecules with the highest chance for clinical success already in the early pre-clincal stages. In the same time reducing animal suffering in drug discovery significantly.

  • What We Do

    I-8

    The I-series technology platform

provides a label-free alternative to high content imaging and classical, limited frequency impedance measurements. The patented technology allows all kind of assays on living cells and bioparticles in real-time.

    I-plates

    96 well-plates

especially designed for the I-series platform consist of 96 sets of interdigitated electrodes and connection paths. These will register the electrical impedance behaviour of the cells.

    Contract research

    Tailor made

assays can be designed and performed on a contract research basis
