Mastitis
Mastitis or udder infection is a major problem in the production of milk. Infected milk needs to be destroyed, and animals often require long treatments with antibiotics, which in turn attributes to the development of resistance against antibiotics.
Early Diagnosis
Mastitis can be easily treatable with minimal antibiotic use, when diagnosed early. However, the lack of a fast, cheap and sensitive test for the early diagnosis of mastitis on the farm forms a major hurdle in the containment of this disease.

With the support of the Interreg CrossRoads2 initiative, CellSine is currently developing an affordable device for the fast, affordable and accurate early detection of mastitis on the farm.
